The Wałbrzych Agglomeration as a Region of Interdistrict Co-operationin the Light of Strategic Documnets and Pilot Social Opinion Research

The specialist literature provides many approaches concerning studies of development of the municipal structure and its effect on cities’ neighbourhood or region. This is an ever current subject of many studies and paths of search for sustainable development of cities and their neighbourhood. Nowadays city planning is strongly incorporated in the national municipal policy where the state’s actions are targeted on sustainable development of cities and their functional areas based on their own potential which may be consequently applied in the process of development of the region or the entire country. Also, common development postulates and objectives of the communes of Wałbrzych Agglomeration respond to the new challenges set within the broadly defi ned municipal policies for 2014-2020. The article is based mainly on the available materials, study of literature, secondary research within diagnosis of the strategy of Wałbrzych Agglomeration developed by teams of experts including employees of the University of Economics in Katowice within the document entitled Perspektywy rozwoju Aglomeracji Wałbrzyskiej. Analiza sytuacyjna [Perspektywy rozwoju… 2012]. This work includes quantitative and qualitative studies based on the mentioned results of secondary research, as well as results of pilot studies carried out in 2013 by the Author in several selected communes and cities of Wałbrzych Agglomeration
