The present article serves in a way as a comment to the first two chapters of Rhetorics where the Stagirite outlined his concept of the rhetorical arts. Given a larger cultural and historical background, the author has submitted Rhetorics to an extensive interpretation by indicating its origin, context, exceptional characteristics and novelty. A great emphasis was given to explain the relation of rhetorics to dialectics and politics, as well as to determine its place in the Aristotelian classification of arts
