The author attempts to show the role which trade unions have played in Poland. He thinks that they should not be amenable to any party. Rather they should concentrate on the social and economical objectives. The problem of unemployment comes to the fore here. Revindicative pressures should be balanced by the concrete proposals of solutions. The revindicative-mindedness is dangerous if it does not take into account the good of an enterprise. It falls within the scope of trade unions' tasks that they should prepare workers to participate in the management of an enterprise, its profits and joint ownership of the means of production
