The purpose of the article is to analyse the ways in which the Syrian war is portrayed in the Twitter domain. It is not concerned with the recreation of the truth of the violent conflict documented in text messages, photographs and films published between 2015-2016 by Syrian organisations home and abroad, as well as activists. Instead, the idea here is to establish a strategy for the creation and dissemination of narratives – texts, images and films – in communication spaces.
