Reducing CO2 emissions is one of the most important issues, not only from the economic point of view, but first and foremost because of its importance for environmental protection. Worldwide research on reduction of CO2 emissions aim to develop technology for carbon capture and storage without a negative impact on the environment. Geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide is the storage method, which is currently tested in various CCS research programs. However, this type of CO2 storage has to be environmentally safe and already at the stage of planning there is a need to estimate the probability of leakage.
