Sheet metal clinching with regard to the use of coated sheets

W artykule przedstawiono badania dotyczące oceny połączeń klinczowanych w aspekcie użycia blach powlekanych. Porównano wartości sił zrywających próbki. Do badań użyto materiały wykorzystywane w procesie produkcji grzejników. Proces łączenia został wykonany z użyciem ręcznej klinczarki BTM. Stwierdzono, że z technologicznego punktu widzenia zalecanym rozwiązaniem jest łączenie niepokrytych materiałów warstwami folii. Gdy zachodzi konieczność pokrycia powierzchni blachy folią, przed połączeniem, w miejscach łączenia należy folię usunąć.In this paper research on the evaluation of clinched joints in terms of the use of coated sheets were presented. The values of the breaking forces of the samples were compared. Materials used in manufacturing process of radiators were used for the tests. The joining process was carried out with manual BTM clamping machine. It was found that from technological pointed of view the recommended solution is to join uncovered materials with layers of foil. When it is necessary to cover the sheet metal surface with foil, the foil in the connection points must be removed before it is joined
