In recent years, it is observed an increase in the use of natural fertilizers that are environmentally friendly. The effluent after microalgae anaerobic digestion (algal effluent) contained organic substances and mineral compounds necessary for lettuce cultivation, hence it is a competitive product for natural fertilizers and an alternative to mineral fertilizers. The experiment was conducted under laboratory conditions. The main objective of the research was to assess the possibility of using the algal effluent as an organic fertilizer for the cultivation of butterhead lettuce.
