In the article, the conception of standby diesel unit with permanent magnet generator was presented. Design issues and possibilities of power unit were discussed. The way which the power unit works in buffer system in the bus was described. Three computational models of permanent magnet synchronous generator were shown. The cross section with graphically presentation of magnetic induction in particular parts of electromagnetic circuits was shown. The work is designed three electromagnetic circuits of permanent magnet generators where the characteristics output voltage versus power load were expressed
