The paper presents results of simulations of a synchronous motor with PM mounted on a rotor controlled with hysteresis current controller. The aim of the research was to show the possibility of using field-circuit analysis for increasing control quality. Based on a 2D simulations using Finite Element Method and control circuit designed in Simplorer, speed, current and torque signals were calculated and the results were compared with circuit analysis carried out in Matlab/Simulink
