In the paper the modeling of synchronous machines with permanent magnets (PM) located on the surface of the rotor is presented. These analyzes are based on the co-energy function and distribution of magnetic field density in the machine air-gap for cases of rotor eccentricity. This approach allows the calculation of influences and effects of rotor eccentricity and other word effects usually neglected in commonly used analytical models. The paper contains a computation for machine with rotor eccentricity and shows the comparison results of calculation for analytical model and FEM. This computation confirms a good agreement of the FEM analysis with the simplified calculation. The presented model reduce the necessity of using the FEM analysis ...
