The paper discusses thermal phenomena occurring in extreme stator parts of big turbogenerators at various values of their load parameters. Results of thermal measurement analyses of extreme elements of turbogenerator stators of the type GTHW-360 are presented. An analysis of magnetic phenomena in extreme elements of turbogenerator stators was conducted with particular consideration of resultant values of leakage inductances of stator and rotor coil authangs versus power factor and turbogenerator stator current values. A modified diagram of limit loads was worked out for turbogenerators type GTHW-360
