Thermal properities of silicon steel core - research and simulations

During the electromagnetic, mechanical and thermal analysis the material properties of analyzed element are necessary to know. Moreover, during the thermal analysis of electrical machines, the knowledge of the thermal properties of their individual components is required. Thermal properties of most electrical machines parts are readily available. However, there are exceptions, an example may be a silicon steel core. Electrical sheets’ manufacturers rarely provide thermal conductivity values. Additionally, this property Has a different value when you consider a silicon steel core. In this case this value is different along and across the lamination stack. It depends on many factors such as the type of insulation and the lamination stack pressure. The simple experiment together with the program for the thermal calculation which allows to determine the thermal conductivity parameters of laminations stack are presented in this article. The experiment is based on monitoring the temperature of heated sample of lamination stack. In the next step experiment was modeled In the program which allows for thermal analysis. As a result of the calibration of the calculation model the thermal conductivity, along and across the lamination of the laminations stack, was determined.W analizach elektromagnetycznych, mechanicznych czy termicznych niezbędna jest znajomość własności materiałowych badanego elementu. Analiza termiczna maszyn elektrycznych wymaga znajomości własności cieplnych poszczególnych elementów wchodzących w skład urządzenia. Wartość parametrów cieplnych dla materiałów, z których wykonana jest większość części maszyn elektrycznych jest ogólnie dostępna. Jednakże zdarzają się wyjątki, których przykładem jest pakiet blach elektrotechnicznych. Producenci blach rzadko udostępniają wartość przewodności cieplnej. Dodatkowo parametr ten przyjmuje inną wartość dla jednej blachy, a inną dla pakietu blach elektrotechnicznych. Ponadto przewodność cieplna jest inna w kierunku podłużnym, a inna w kierunku poprzecznym pakietu. Zależy ona od takich czynników jak rodzaj izolacji pomiędzy blachami, czy siły użytej podczas pakietowania. W artykule przedstawiono proste doświadczenie, które wspomagane programem do obliczeń termicznych, pozwala na wyznaczenie parametrów przewodności cieplnych pakietu blach elektrotechnicznych. Doświadczenie polega na jednostronnym ogrzewaniu próbki w postaci pakietu blach i monitorowaniu rozkładu temperatury. Modelując to doświadczenie w programie do analiz termicznych i kalibrując model obliczeniowy wynikami eksperymentu wyznaczano wartość przewodności cieplnej pakietu blach w dwóch prostopadłych kierunkach
