This article presents the comparison of two machines: synchronized asynchronous motor (SASf-1612LX) and a replacement assembly of line start permanent magnet synchronous motor (GZM-1612L) with nominal power of 3200 kW. The starting current, overloading, efficiency and maintenance of both machines are compared.W artykule porównano właściwości eksploatacyjne dwóch maszyn: silnika asynchronicznego synchronizowanego (SASf-1612LX) oraz zamiennego montażowo silnika synchronicznego wzbudzanego magnesami trwałymi o rozruchu bezpośrednim (GZM-1612L) o mocach znamionowych równych 3200 kW.
