Im vorliegenden Beitrag gilt die Aumerksamkeit der Panzenmetaphorik und ihrem Zusammenhang mit der Geschlechterproblematik in der deutschen Frühromantik. Im Artikel wird hervorgehoben, dass der Panzentopos auf die Geschlechterdierenzen hinweist und mit dem religiös-mystischen topos der Suche nach dem vollkommenen Menschen verbunden ist.
