Background. Socio-economic factors have long been a topic of scientific research. It has been demonstrated that these factors have a considerable influence on the health of the population. Unemployment, low income, migrations and family status (full, incomplete or shattered) affect the health of the family and children. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of socioeconomic factors on health behaviour of young people living in Rybnik. Material and methods. The survey was conducted among 391 students of Rybnik schools. Family affluence was determined using the Family Affluence Scale (FAS). The level of p <0.05 is considered as statistically significant.
