Phosphorus losses from agricultural soils due to runoff pose a risk of the eutrophication of surface waters. In recent years, numerous studies dedicated to this problem have been performed. The same question has been investigated in our study as well. Our aim was to determine the relationship between the content of phosphorus in the 0-5 cm layer of arable soil, and the concentration of this element in the naturally formed surface runoff under conditions of ongoing agricultural production.
