Since the 1990s, growing attention has been paid to the utilization of the Internet in the firm internationalization (Internet-based internationalization) and factors determining the adoption of the Internet in the foreign expansion of enterprises. The purpose of this paper is to provide a systematic review of the literature addressing institutional barriers of the Internet-based foreign expansion of enterprises.
