Introduction: Analysis of the occurrence of anorexia nervosa involves the possible contribution of orexigenic peptides, including orexins A and B, ghrelin, galanin, neuropeptide Y and anorexigenic peptides which are represented by leptin, proopiomelanocortin (POMC), or transcript regulated by cocaine and amphetamine (CART). Aim: The study was aimed at examining the correlation between the concentrations of orexigenic peptides: orexins A and B (OXA and OXB) and ghrelin (GRE) in plasma and the body mass index (BMI) in AN patients.
