In the present paper the content of heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Zn, Mn) in weeds of two spring barley croplands was estimated. Considerable differences in the amounts of the analyzed elements were noted. The weeds, due to their capability of a large cumulation of the mentioned metals, especially Pb, caused the reduction of these elements in the analyzed cultivated plants
