In experiments carried out within 2001-2004 the effects of irrigation, cultivation technology and nitrogen fertilization on the yields and economic effects of potato production were investigated. It was stated that under irrigation conditions the yields of tubers increased with increasing nitrogen fertilization up to 180 kg N‧ha⁻¹, whereas without irrigation up to 120 kg N‧ha⁻¹. For remaining factors irrigation, increased the yield by 34.9% on an average. The most profitable, at both watering variants, appeared to be the low-input cultivation technology at fertilization rate of 180 kg N‧ha⁻¹.
