The paper presents the results of a 10-year long series of monitoring of slopewash and linear erosion processes, carried out in the Snieżnik Massif (East Sudety) in all phytoclimatological belts. Accumulation and erosion processes were measured using surface wash traps, Gerlach troughs and measuring pins. Slopewash on forested and sod-covered mountain slopes is negligible and does not exceed 1 Mg·km⁻²·a⁻¹. It was only marginally higher during extreme rains in July 1997, which subsequently generated a gigantic flood in the whole region. It appears that forest and grass cover effectively protect slope surfaces against wash processes.
