As a starting point we claim that the sociological approach towards social capital is not complete and one should also consider the economical aspects of this notion. Social capital influences not only the way a society functions, it also influences the economy. The notion of social capital in the literature is not very precise. One ascribes different features to it, including gainsaying its essence, like for instance a negative one. This is the reason why we propose a definition which describes the notion as well as the way it arises.
