Democracy and Elections in Costa Rica –The Phenomenon at the Central American Level

The author of the article presents the electoral proceedings in Costa Rica. The outline of said processes, from the moment of the democratic political transition, was described with emphasis put on the uniqueness of the Costa Rican political system at the regional level. The elements of the political system of special importance for the proceeding and functioning of the electoral system were presented within the context of democratic consolidation as well as the shape of the party system.Artykuł poświęcony jest procesom wyborczym w Kostaryce.
