Transformations of teacher training in the context of multiculturalism and euro-integration

The undertaken discussion aims at capturing some important features of teachers’ education. This will be limited to the issues which to the largest extent indicate the chances and success in preparing teachers for their work. Some partial results will be referred to of the studies conducted in Poland among candidates for teachers and concerning the views on their own driving force. An attempt will be made to understand and interpret the transformations in teacher training and a model will be presented of teachers’ preparation for work in multicultural conditions. In search for theoretical references to various issues of teacher training, the output of many humanistic sciences is explored. The theoretical background of the main subject of reflection clearly exposes the relations between intercultural education and the knowledge gained in the field of pedagogy, pedeutology, psychology, sociology, anthropology and other sciences.Celem podjętych rozważań jest uchwycenie niektórych ważnych cech nauczycielskiej edukacji. Ograniczę się do zagadnień, które w największym stopniu wyznaczają szanse i powodzenie w przygotowaniu nauczycieli do pracy. Przywołam cząstkowe wyniki ogólnopolskich badań kandydatów na nauczycieli dotyczące spostrzegania własnego sprawstwa, podejmę próbę odczytania przemian w kształceniu nauczycieli oraz przedstawię propozycję modelu przygotowania nauczyciela do pracy w warunkach wielokulturowości. W poszukiwaniu teoretycznych odniesień do różnych kwestii kształcenia nauczyciela sięgam do dorobku nauk humanistycznych.
