It is believed that human capital mobility is essential for both intranational as well as international knowledge diffusion and consequently for the improvement of innovativeness and competitiveness of enterprises and national economies. The common opinion, however, is that it is only the receiving party who benefits in the form of spillover effects while the source company or country of the worker lose (or do not gain) as a result of his departure or emigration.
