Nuclear energy as an element of critical infrastructure and security strategy of the Republic of Poland

Diversification of energy sources is one of the most essential components of security policy of the state. The nature and economic significance contribute to its strategic character connected with the short and longterm strategy of the state. The implementation of newest advanced technology, even in the concept phase, influences the security strategy and creates a new element of the security system, where nuclear power plants are at the same time a challenge and a threat. Due to the nature and multifaceted threats, the idea of first nuclear power plant in Poland should be considered in the context of critical infrastructure and also as a part of National Security Strategy
