The paper refers to the notion of simulacrum, a term created by Jean Baudrillard in his work “Simulacra and Simulation”, a philosophical treatise from 1981, in which he seeks to examine the relationships among reality, symbols, and society, in particular the significations and symbolism of culture and media that are involved in constructing an understanding of shared existence.
