This study examines the effect of social networking sites on students. It investigates the influence of Facebook and Twitter on the academic performance of postgraduate students of University of Ibadan. The study employs survey and literary investigative approaches. Chapters in books, scholarly articles in reputable journals, internet sources, and others serve as our critical sources of references and illustrations. Furthermore, this study is foregrounded on Technological Determinism Theory which recognises the positive effect of technology and its wide usage by people with diverse cultures.
