The article highlights the new dimensions for the integral interaction between linguistics and philosophy in the 21st century. Starting from the philosophical conceptions of B. Russel and L Wittgenstein the question of how to acquire the linguistic knowledge – by experience or reasoning – still brings about scientific debate. In the present paper we give reasons to the idea that philosophy based on language analysis is one thing; the basing of language analysis on philosophy is quite another.
