Migrations – intercultural education – safety

In this paper to describe the importance and role of intercultural education as a priority in Polish education, the authors assumed the perspective of changes caused by the dynamics of migration at the local and global levels, and the need to provide a sense of security of societies that are the actors of these changes. Presented were statistical data of migration from Poland and to Poland, to justify the need for an interest in the variety of the consequences of this phenomenon, as well as legal documents regulating migration policy in the country. Previous theoretical studies and practical solutions in the field of intercultural education were cited. The authors conclude their discussion with the urgent need to integrate intercultural education into the education system at all levels. They recognise that current legal conditions allow optimal execution of its tasks, however, the primary factor in its application is the need to perceive opportunities and possibilities arising from cultural diversity by policy makers not only at the local governments level but also the ministerial level. Ensuring preparation for the acquisition of intercultural competencies of citizens and migrants may result in peaceful coexistence in the same territory.W niniejszym artykule do opisu wagi i roli edukacji międzykulturowej, jako priorytetu w polskiej oświacie, autorzy przyjęli perspektywę zmian wywołanych dynami-ką migracji w wymiarze lokalnym i globalnym oraz potrzebą zapewnienia poczucia bezpieczeństwa społeczeństwom, które są aktorami tych zmian. Przedstawione zostały dane statystyczne migracji do Polski i z Polski, uzasadniające potrzebę zainteresowania się różnorakimi konsekwencjami tego zjawiska, oraz dokumenty prawne regulujące politykę migracyjną w kraju. Przywołano dotychczasowe opracowania teoretyczne i rozwiązania praktyczne z zakresu edukacji międzykulturowej. Autorzy konkludują swoje omówienie pilną potrzebą włączenia edukacji międzykulturowej do systemu oświaty na wszystkich jej poziomach. Uznają, że stworzone warunki prawne umożliwiają optymalną realizację jej zadań, jednakże podstawowym czynnikiem jej aplikacji jest konieczność dostrzeżenia szans i możliwości wynikających ze zróżnicowania kulturowego przez decydentów na szczeblach nie tylko lokalnych samorządów, ale także ministerialnym. Zapewnienie przygotowania do nabywania kompetencji międzykulturowych obywatelom i migrantom skutkować może pokojowym współżyciem na jednym terytorium
