The article presents an attempt to evaluate commercially avaible software selected software vendors, used in the design of relational databases. In the comparative analyses both commercial and non-commercial solutions are taken into account. The research purpose is to propose a method of assessment of tools based on a modified model of usable quality presented in ISO 25010 and to select the best tool of the ones that have been evaluated
