The article analyses the influence of knowledge, its transfer and knowledge management on the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. The main part of the article presents the concepts of knowledge and knowledge transfer, and then the essence of competitive advantage and the impact of knowledge and knowledge transfer on the level of competitiveness of SMEs. Finally the article describes research on the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises
