This article attempts to present the structure and the functioning of the ‘Słowo Polskie’ Publishing Company in Lwów in 1895–1938 on the basis of primary source material from the Ukrainian Central Historical Archives in Lwów. Słowo Polskie [The Polish Word], a newspaper aligned at fi rst with the Galician democrats and later the national democrats, was a flagship of the company.
