The article is an attempt to present the quality of customer service as one of the basic elements determining success of a contemporary hotel. In the study the essence and kinds of hotel guest service have been discussed with particular emphasis on all activities whose aim is to persuade a guest to use services offered by the hotel. The article demonstrates the standards of dealing with guests and takes into account the rules of hospitability and use of modern technologies
