The article is a continuation of the issue of managing worker absence (Gajdzik, 2015). Theoretical considerations were supplemented with statistical data about sickness absences of workers in the steel industry. The timespan analysis covers the years 2000-2015. The share of absence in the lost work time was determined on the basis of the number of sickness absence hours.
