Segmentation of the EU-28 members in terms of agriculture greenhouse gas emissions using cluster analysis

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań z zastosowaniem metody grupowania aglomeracyjnego. Celem badań było pogrupowanie państw członkowskich UE-28 w podzbiory najbardziej do siebie podobne pod względem emisji metanu i podtlenku azotu, uwalnianych przez sektor rolny, oraz usytuowanie Polski na ich tle. Wyraźnie homogenicznym państwem jest Francja z najwyższymi w Unii emisjami rolniczymi. Odrębne skupienie stanowią Niemcy i Wielka Brytania, również charakteryzujące się wysokimi emisjami. Trzecia wyodrębniona grupa, także z emisjami powyższej średniej europejskiej, składa się z sześciu krajów, do których zakwalifikowała się Polska. Pozostałe 19 państw zaszeregowały się do ostatniego skupienia.The article presents the results of using the agglomerative clustering method. The aim of the study was to group the Member States of the EU-28 in most similar to each other subsets in terms of methane and nitrous oxide emissions released by agricultural sector and the location of Poland in their background. Clearly homogeneous is France with the highest agricultural emissions in the union. Separate cluster represent Germany and the United Kingdom, also characterized by high emissions. The third separate group, also with emissions above the European average is consist of six countries, where Poland has been qualified too. The remaining 19 countries has been categorized to the last cluster
