The handling of bodies in Predynastic cemeteries were described by Fl. Petrie during the discovery of this period of Egyptian history. However controversial, they were studied in relation to certain passages of the Pyramid Texts. G.R.H. Wright reviewed this evidence in 1979. The excavations at Adaima have uncovered further proof which absolutely attest the manipulation of bones and handling of bodies.
