The partition testing method is a commonly followed practice towards the selection of test cases. For partition testing, the program's input domain is divided into subsets, called subdomains, and one or more representatives from each subdomain are selected to test the program. The goal of such partitioning is to make the division of the program's input domain in such a way that when the tester selects test cases based on the subsets, the resulting test set is a good representation of the entire domain.
