Measure of the artisans'oven temperatures from Mórrope, department of Lambayeque, utilized to burn pottery in a traditional way Abstract In this paper we present temperatures measured in an artisans' kiln at Mórrope, Lambayeque. This potter made ceramics in a traditional way using wood of the carob tree and vichayo, animal dung and dead leaves of the carob tree as fuel. The kiln had a more or less elliptic form with a major axis of ~ 7.9m in the north-south direction and a minor axis of ~ 6.8m.
