The Paita harbor and the north coast related to the regional history of Piura The achievement of a research project on the extreme north of peru shores, allowed a better understanding of the role played by Paita and the north coast between the years 1546 and 1547, when the Pedro de la Gasca and Gonzalo Pizarro conflict arisen. This scope endorses the coastal Indians and their active relationship with the economical system of the Colony which was to be established. A special call of attention is made to the raft Indians and the leading role they played in all the region.
