Drawings of observations during the first phases of study of objects and phenomena. The analysis of students ‘drawings while studying objects or phenomena in physics and technology, brings to light a number of difficulties of different nature : complications of the object, infantile aspects linked to the imaginary, erroneous conceptions, graphic rules. These difficulties exist to a differing degree depending on whether children are observing while drawing or whether they are relying on their memory. At this level, our research confirms the rela¬ tivist hypothesis of the status of observation ; dependant on the observer and the context it cannot be neutral and passive.
