History of science and epistemological thinking in pupils Pierre Fillon In science teaching, the history of science and techniques is the eternal abseftt : constantly referred to, practically never put into practice in the classroom. In this article, I propose to show that by introducing it, even on a modest scale, we could : -modify teachers’practices by inciting them to accept pluridisciplinarity, and by encouraging them to take into account their pupils’ representations ; -make the pupils think, on one hand about their own conceptions of science and techniques in society, and on the other hand about the way their own spontaneous models, when they impede their acquisition of scientific knowledge, could be modified in the light of hist...
