Terapia ultradźwiękowa jest obecnie szeroko dostępna oraz stosowana w fizjoterapii i medycynie sportowej. Pulsacyjne ultradźwięki niskiej częstotliwości LIPUS (ang. low-intesity pulsed ultrasound) nie powodują zmian termicznych. Badania kliniczne, zgodne z medycyną opartą na faktach, potwierdziły możliwość ich zastosowania w procesie zrostu kostnego. Celem pracy jest przegląd obecnego stanu wiedzy na temat LIPUS.
