Late medieval and moderne horticulture in the suburbs of Paris, Saint-Denis et Rueil-Malmaison from XIVth to XIXth century. Using archaeological remains found in the suburbs of Paris, we discuss the ways of planting used in fruit arboriculture since the Late Middle Ages. Field results are compared to techniques proposed in contemporary books on agronomy, and replaced within the framework of regional history. Orchards, vineyards and some vegetable gardening (such as asparagus-growing) left traces on the ground, which we try to interpret.
