New Bryozoa of South-West Aquitaine (France)

An abundant but often poorly preserved bryozoan fauna is present in the Southern part of the Aquitaine basin, in the Lower Tertiary (Eocene-Oligocene) beds. Numerous genera and species have already been described. However, some genera have been discovered for the first time during the course of our research on these faunas. Among these new or poorly known genera are Spiropora verticillata, Centronea micropora, Cupuladria boulangeri, and few représentants of Cothurnicella, Diploecium, Spiroporina.Le Sud du bassin d'Aquitaine renferme une faune abondante, mais mal conservée, de Bryozoaires. De nombreux genres et espèces ont déjà été décrits précédemment. Toutefois, un certain nombre de genres ont été découverts pour la première fois, au cours de nos travaux. Parmi ceux-ci , il faut citer Spiropora verticillata, Centronea micropora, Cupuladria boulangeri, et des représentants de genres jusqu'ici inconnus dans nos sédiments : Cothurnicella sp., Diploecium (voisin de D. simplex), Spiroporina.Debourle André.
