Accurate geometric data is the most important issue in the filed of safety evaluation and preservation of historical structures. Photogrammetry is successfully used to document historic buildings since many years. By the recent developments in the field of computer technology it is possible to create as built survey documentation in a very time efficient and accurate way. Traditionally total stations are used to record data of the structures and other techniques are close - range photogrammetry and laser scanning which are faster and precise methods.
