W artykule przedstawiono podstawy matematyczne metod badania własności rozwiązań liniowych układów równań różniczkowych zwyczajnych ze współczynnikami okresowymi względem czasu. Układy takie opisują między innymi ruch łopat wirników śmigłowców wymuszanych przez niesymetrię opływu w łocie poziomym. Analiza rozwiązań układów równań różniczkowych z okresowymi współczynnikami wymaga stosowania specjalnych metod wywodzących się z twierdzenia Floqueta.
