Heart activity measurement using capacitive coupled body sensors

Artykuł przedstawia układ do monitorowania aktywności elektrycznej serca z użyciem bezkontaktowej metody pojemnościowej. Czujnikami potencjałów na powierzchni skóry są sensory pojemnościowe, specjalnie do tego celu zaprojektowane. Pomiar wykonywany jest poprzez ubranie badanej osoby w pozycji siedzącej. Sensory umieszczone są na oparciu krzesła. Dla zmniejszenia wpływu zakłóceń zastosowano aktywną elektrodę odniesienia również ze sprzężeniem pojemnościowym, na której badana osoba siedzi.The paper presents a system for heart activity monitoring without a direct conductive skin contact. The system utilizes capacitively coupled sensors specially designed for measurements of electric potentials on a human body. In addition, to reduce common mode effects, there is employed a capacitive "driven seat ground" active electrode, similar to the "driven right leg" feedback. Section 1 contains a short description of the non-contact measurement techniques which do not require use of conductive gels and direct electric contact with skin, which may result in skin irritation. Section 2 deals with the measurement system. Amplifiers and filters are briefly discussed. A capacitive sensor is presented in detail. Examples of measurements through clothes are given in Section 3. The results for various areas of the reference electrode and during body movement are also included
