Musical Forms vs. Maria Grossek-Korycka's Lyrical Cycles

Her references to music result from her aesthetic and philosophical reflection. Her poems, are cycles especially The Sonata in Flat minor, Miserere mei Domine, All Souls Oratory and The Spring. The Symphony has an original form which exploits various types of the verses division, uses different structures of the stanzas (or rather meaningful units) and various shapes and sizes of the fonts. This is to emphasize semantic and thematic sequences and results in a 'polyphonic' effect, similar to that of a musical composition. Grossek-Korycka models her cycles on complex musical forms, which often have a form of a cycle. Her combination of poetry and music, which reach the level of in-depth metatextual relations, provokes an 'active' model of reading, engaging musical contexts.26527
