Photograph of farm pond construction showing how the base of the pond is cleared off and the soil is pushed up to the back side. This top soil will be pushed up to the top and back sides of the 3:1 slope on the pond. This will aid in controlling erosion and will make establishment of a vegetative cover much easier. This type construction is required in the Jefferson County Soil Conservation District
